FLC understands the importance of ministering to the physical and not just the spiritual needs of the people in Thailand and Myanmar. In tending to the physical needs, we open up opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ with the local people.

The Barefoot Doctors program began over 20 years ago to counter the lack of medical care in northern Myanmar (Burma) and remote areas of Thailand.

We also provide instruction in basic hygiene and preventative health care. The "Healthy Living" project teaches people in village settings about nutrition, sanitation, substance abuse prevention, emotional and mental health, and medication—all from a spiritual Christian perspective. In every village reached, health and quality of life improves while mortality rates fall.
